Kamembe Airport (IATA: KME / ICAO: HRZA) serves as a pivotal air gateway in Rwanda, specifically located near the scenic city of Kamembe in the country's Western Province. Nestled close to the borders of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi, this regional airport plays a critical role in air connectivity for the region. The airport's convenient location by the shores of Lake Kivu contributes to its strategic importance, facilitating easy access to one of Rwanda's key tourist destinations as well as neighboring markets.

Initially constructed during the colonial era, Kamembe Airport has undergone numerous upgrades to support the expanding needs of air travel in the region. As a regional airport, Kamembe chiefly handles domestic flights, connecting passengers to Kigali International Airport (KGL) and other key locations within Rwanda. This airport remains fundamental to enhancing domestic mobility and fostering economic activities across the Western Province.

Despite its classification as a regional airport, Kamembe sees a considerable amount of traffic relative to its size. It accommodates several airlines, with RwandAir being a prominent operator, offering regular flights primarily to Kigali.
