Aeropuerto de Ngurah Rai/Bali Intl (DPS)
Ngurah Rai International Airport (IATA: DPS, ICAO: WADD), commonly referred to as Bali International Airport, is the primary gateway to the island of Bali, Indonesia. Located in Tuban, approximately 13 km south of Denpasar, the capital city of Bali, the airport serves as a critical hub for both domestic and international flights. Originating from a modest airfield used during the Dutch colonial period, the airport has undergone significant transformations, most notably receiving substantial upgrades ahead of the 2013 APEC summit.
Today, Ngurah Rai International Airport stands as Indonesia's second-busiest airport, after Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. Annually, it manages over 24 million passengers, demonstrating its vital role in the tourism-driven economy of Bali. The airport hosts flights from more than 50 international airlines and multiple Indonesian carriers, linking Bali with major cities worldwide including direct flights to key destinations in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
Covering over 285 hectares, the airport features a modern terminal that separates international and domestic operations, equipped with various amenities to cater to travelers’ needs. Its strategic location near popular tourist spots such as Kuta, Seminyak, and Nusa Dua makes it highly convenient for visitors. As a hub, Ngurah Rai not only enhances Bali’s connectivity but also supports Indonesia’s broader aviation network, ensuring seamless travel experiences for millions of passengers each year.
